Transforming Our Community Through Music and Innovation

At L’Avventura London, we believe that music is more than an art form – it is a catalyst for learning, connection, and social change. Through our pioneering outreach and education initiatives, we are broadening access to historically informed performance, nurturing emerging talent, and exploring the profound ways in which music shapes the human mind and experience.

London Community Baroque Orchestra : Our Flagship Educational Programme

The London Community Baroque Orchestra (LCBO) is L’Avventura London’s flagship educational initiative, created to inspire and develop musicians through the study and practice of historical performance.

Under the artistic direction of Dr Žak Ozmo, the LCBO has become one of London’s most distinctive community music projects, offering:

🎻 Specialist Training in Historical Performance – Regular rehearsals, expert coaching, and interactive workshops led by members of L’Avventura London and distinguished guest artists.

🎶 A Supportive and Inclusive Musical Community – A welcoming environment where musicians explore Baroque repertoire while refining both technical skill and expressive artistry.

🌍 A Diverse and Inspiring Repertoire – From celebrated masterpieces to rediscovered gems, the LCBO offers the opportunity to perform historically significant works in an authentic context.

The LCBO welcomes amateur adult musicians (Grade 5+), students, and early-career professionals by audition. Players of modern instruments are warmly encouraged to participate. The orchestra rehearses at A=415 Baroque pitch every Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Bridging Music, Science, and Well-Being

L’Avventura London is also proud to collaborate with the Ozmo Institute for Neuroaesthetics, an international leader in research at the intersection of music, neuroscience, and human well-being.

This partnership brings together scientific insight and artistic practice, exploring how music influences cognition, creativity, and emotional resilience. Through performances, workshops, and interdisciplinary projects, we are redefining how music can educate, heal, and strengthen communities – connecting the artistry of the past with the innovation of the future.
