L’Avventura London, directed by conductor, music director and early plucked-instrument specialist Žak Ozmo, brings the music of the 16th to 19th centuries vividly to life through performances that combine virtuosity with life-affirming passion. Rich in colour, character and imagination, the ensemble’s performances invite audiences to discover unfamiliar treasures and hear familiar works afresh.

Founded in 2010, L’Avventura draws inspiration from London’s long history as a meeting place for musicians, cultures and traditions. Its adventurous programmes explore the musical exchanges that crossed borders and shaped earlier centuries, revealing music’s enduring power to move, delight and surprise.

Praised for its “excellent musicianship” and “admirable understanding of Baroque performance conventions” (Gramophone), the ensemble has appeared at leading festivals, including the York Early Music Festival, Lufthansa Festival of Baroque Music, Brighton Early Music Festival and Cheltenham Music Festival. Its performances have taken it to the Kölner Philharmonie in Cologne, the Grande Auditório Calouste Gulbenkian in Lisbon and The Queen’s Hall in Edinburgh, with collaborators including Dame Emma Kirkby and Michael Chance.

L’Avventura’s performances and recordings have been broadcast internationally by BBC Radio 3, NPR, CBC, ABC Classic FM and numerous European broadcasters. Its recordings on Hyperion and Opella Nova Records bring its distinctive interpretations and discoveries to listeners around the world.

Guided by Ozmo’s research, many programmes feature modern premieres of works rediscovered in archives. From intimate chamber performances to full orchestral programmes, L’Avventura combines historical insight with the freedom and spontaneity of live performance, sharing the excitement of discovery with its audiences.
